Setting The Distance

Jay looked at his family and narrowed his eyes. Of course he had been through hell before but this...this was something else. He needed to be precise to get his family away safely. Those people, not people, animals were the most disgusting creatures he had ever come across.  "Listen to me carefully. I'm going to take the car, and we're going to get as far as we can go before setting off on foot once we have guns." He slowly narrowed his eyes. "Genie, Emery, and Nathan. You're twenty-two, but your age I was already coming up with my own ideas. I need you three to focus. You need to get to that car as soon as I give you the okay."  He looked at the distraught Genie who was having a difficult time focusing since the death of their mother.
"Genie you need to stop crying and put yourself together. One loss is enough I need you to keep your head up." He looked out the window at two figures. They were both wearing bandanna's over their mouths, and enough clothing to cover any part of their body that was exposed. 
They looked insane and for some odd reason, he felt as if he knew who it was. It could be none other than the psychos Ben, and Ashlee. They weren't afraid of something like this. If anything, it filled their blood lust and probably drove them more insane than the diseased themselves. 
Well, not really, but they were sadistic in those ways.  
Drawing his attention back to his family he got up and nodded to them before slipping out and into the car. After gesturing to them it was clear  he unlocked the doors and waited.

Nathan made sure his sisters got out before running after them. He looked around feeling as if they were being watched. For the most part, they were.

Jordan nodded slowly and kissed him.

Chase attempted to return the kiss back but could barely function with his blood loss.

"What do I do? Jordan whimpered

Briar walked in ready to look for Rory but noticed Chase on the ground. "What the fuck?" She said and reached through her bag pulling out a medical kit and tossing it to Jordan. "What did you do to him? Where's Rory?"

"I didn't so anything!" Jordan snapped an began to work on him. "I have no idea."

Briar exhaled and began to look around for Rory.

Chase grunted and opened his eyes a bit.

"Stay awake." Jordan demanded of him and gave him a few pain pills.

Chase dizzily sat up after resting there and looked at Jordan. "Do the kids love me?" He asked obvisously a bit out of it.

"Yes." Jordan nodded and frowned, noticing Jenna had disappeared.

Chase shut his eyes. "Can I sleep?" He mumbled and grew a bit sad.

"No not yet." Jordan said, forcing him to his feet. "Walk a little first."

Chase reluctantly got to his feet and began to pace slightly and glanced at her with a light gaze. "Will you be my wife Jordan?"

Jordan didn't answer. "Come on, over to the bedroom and you can sleep there."

"You didn't answer." Chase mumbled as he followed her. He pulled her down on top of him. "I love you Jordan." He grunted.

Jordan shook her head. "No you don't."

"I love you." Chase repeated staring at her. "I love you. Because we have, babies, and I want more babies with you, another baby. We can have one and we can..." He paused to think.

Briar glanced into the room listening to the conversation and sighed. She felt bad for her best friend.

"And we can wht? Wait for you to decide you don't want me anymore and leave me, then come back when you feel like it? No." Jordan snapped suddenly. "I wont put my kids through that."

Chase stared at her for a long moment before forcing himself into his feet. "I don't need you." He mumbled and headed for the door. "I'll have a family. A real one."

"If you leave now, don't come back." Jordan warned. "Not for the kids, not for me. Never."

"I don't understand! Do you want me to stay or go?" Chase asked leaning on the wall for support while gazing at her."

"I want you to know that this isn't 'Chase's show' this is real life. Your actions matter." Jordan pointed out.

"They do matter and I don't know what to do!" Chase sneered. "Do I stay or do I go?"

Koda began to wail loud.

Alisha walked down the apartment building hall way with slumped shoulders. She was pretty exhausted. As she walked she kept her mouth shut and body still, listing in on the conversations going on behind closed doors and paper thin walls. Reaching her door, she slid the key into the lock and walked inside. Then, with a loud exhale, fell down on to the couch to rest for a few moments.

"Well what do you want?" Jordan snapped in return.

Briar had been in the hallway with her arms crossed watching for Rory and noticed a new girl. She walked over and hung in by the doorway. "Hi." She greeted. "Seen a chick with the same hair color as me?"

"I want to stay." Chase responded and walked over to pick up the crying Koda.
