Filling The Emptiness

Becoming elderly had to had have been one of Chase's worst nightmares but it wasn't as bad with his wife securely by his side at all times. He couldn't have asked for a better lifetime with Jordan. He had gotten to see even his greatest grand kids. Awakening from his slumber he achingly threw his legs off the bed just as the sun rose and took little steps downstairs to make himself, and Jordan some coffee after brushing his teeth and washing himself in the bathroom. For being almost ninety-four years old he still found himself remotely active.
He slowly made his way up the stairs again and put the coffee on Jordan's night stand then kissed her cheek like he did every morning. "Do you want to sit by the beach today?" He asked a bit enthusiastically. "I don't mind driving today, I feel great." He told said and sat on the bed beside her to hold her hand.

Jordan began to hum along to the song.

Chase finally pulled into the drive way of their home and got out gradually and made his way inside to sit on the couch and rest.

Jordan sat beside him and cuddled against him.

Chase cuddled against her affectionately until he felt a sudden sharp stab in his chest and gasped for a breath.

Jordan looked at him and suddenly panicked with a frown. "Chase, are you ok? Do I need to call for an ambulance?" She asked quickly and stood up.

"No, no, just a bit of pain." Chase told her and shut his eyes trying to rest but only squeezed tighter.

Jordan shook her head as her eyes filled with tears. "No, I'm going to call." She said and stood up to go to the phone.

Sarah appeared beside Chase. "Alright buddy, it's time to go now." She said softly.

Chase glanced at Sarah and breathed heavily assuming Jordan couldn't see her. He extended his hand for his wife. "Jordan..."

Jordan turned back and grabbed his hand quickly, squeezing it tightly.

"It's time." Sarah murmured to him and held out her hand for his empty one.

Chase gasped again and tugged Jordan down to kiss her on the lips before extending his empty hand to the woman and slowly letting out his last breath.

Sarah gave Chase a gentle smile. "She'll be with you soon. Don't worry."

Jordan stared in shock and burst into tears. "Chase, wake up!" She begged, nudging him gently. "Come on, you can't leave me here." She sobbed.

Chase glanced at his reflection in the mirror to see a much younger figure of himself. As dead as he was he felt radiant. "I feel better." He said as if his chest were glowing with light. He looked at Jordan sadly. "How soon?" He asked hovering behind Jordan with his hand resting on her back. "Don't cry." He begged wanting her to hear him so badly. "I love you, Jordan you'll be okay."

Jordan continued to sob and clutched onto his body, she couldn't remember life without him. She didn't want to know what it felt like.

"I'd say within the hour." Sarah said a nd plopped down on the couch to wait.

Chase sighed. "I didn't get to say by to the kids." He said sadly and began to wait for Jordan anyway. He didn't want to go anywhere without her.

Jordan took a thing of pills off the counter, she didn't know what it was but it didn't matter. She wouldn't live without him, she couldn't. Curling back up beside him she took the pills and closed her eyes, waiting for the affects to take place.

Chase winced as she had taken the pills and looked at Sarah. "Is that painful?" He asked while running his hand through Jordan's hair.

"No, she will go to sleep and just stop breathing." Sarah shrugged.

After another half an hour Jordan fell asleep, only to be greeted by Sarah and a younger Chase...as well as her own body laying beside Chase's. " Chase!" She said quickly with tears in her eyes and tackled him to the ground to kiss him passionately.

Chase caught her and laughed enthusiastically kissing her passionately. Even if it had been just two hours apart he hated the time frame. He nuzzled close against her. He didn't care what had happened to him so long as he was with her. He looked over at Sarah. "Thank you."

Jordan clung to him tightly, refusing to let go.

"Anytime!" Sarah shrugged and disappeared back to Anthony.

Chase continued to hold her tightly hoping nothing could separate them like that again. "Sorry I left before you." He apologized.

"You should be." Jordan said and punched his shoulder, kissing him again.

Chase smirked and suddenly looked around. "If we're dead, where's your mom and dad?" He asked and suddenly looked up but before he could react he was in a completely new land, with a large landscape, he noticed a few others including his younger brother Atticus. "When did you drop dead?"

Atticus scowled. "That's really polite." He said and sat down on a comfortable chair that seemed to have appeared out of no where. "About thirty years ago, I got uh real sick, and it didn't get treated in time. You seemed to have lived a pretty damn long life?"

Jordan didn't let go of Chase as she waved at Atticus. "Where's Melinda?"

"I don't know, alive I could only guess. I've been meaning to ask Brook but I'm afraid to hear she's with another person." Atticus responded honestly and frowned.

Dia darted forward and hugged Jordan affectionately. She had surprisingly missed her sister.

"Yeah, we lasted to ninety three years old." Chase pointed out then blinked. "Brook as in Lily's mother?" He suddenly looked around for the woman.

Jordan blinked and hugged Dia back. "Woah, when did you bite it?" She frowned.
