Darker Than Dusk

Night had fallen over and the fire that light the sand beside them revealed a plan of how things would be working out. Jay stood over it explaining to each of the group individually. For their raid, he had selected Alex, James, Kitty, Benjamin, and Dawn. As for the others, he wasn't so sure they were completely fine with the idea since it had only been year a since their own captivity but things needed to be done. The opposed group had not bothered to help them even in their time of famine, and their drought. Sine thy had control of the waterfall they could barely get a drink without being caught. Some things just needed to be done. It wasn't as if they had family's. They were doing no one real harm. Yet.
Kitty looked at the boys as she stood up straight. "You know it'd be wiser if we sent someone to check their status before we just go in blindly." She told them.

Nikolai laid in his hammock with his hands behind his head snoozing quietly.

James nodded, examining the plans carefully beside Jay. "I agree with Kitty."

Hunter sat on the beach beside Aunna, playing with her hair as she slept. He watched the stars reflect on the water tiredly.

"Do you volunteer?" Jay asked as he looked at Jame curiously.

Kitty looked at her brother curiously.

"Sure." James shrugged, walking out. "If I'm not back soon, something's gone wrong."

Kitty gave him a quick hug.

James patted her back then walked off with his hands in his pockets, looking around cautiously.

Kitty watched him go then sat down to wait.

Nikolai opened his eyes and stared up at the stars.

Jacki sat with Jordan and Nirvana and kissed their heads gently.

Deciding James had been taking too long Jay shook his head. "Let's just go." He said and began to walked off in direction to the camp. As soon as he had them enslaved he'd have everything going.

Nikolai slowly walked inside to get into bed with Samee running his hand up and down her body.

James reached the other group's camp and looked around, noticing they were awake. Hunter and girl on the beach, the others unknown. Frowning, he quietly crept around.

Nirvana pouted. "Mama."

"What?" Jacki asked with a smirk to her daughter.

Dawn sighed and shook her head. "Why are we doing this?"

Samee mumbled something inaudible and yawned.

"Don't play dumb Dawn we already talked about it." Jay said turning to her. "You're not going to turn your back on me now are you?" He asked pausing his steps to look back at her cautiously.

Nathan scrabbled along after his parents.

Alex looked back at his family as he walked off after the rest. Maybe it was time to talk it out with Jacki when he got back... Nothing was going to be resolved by glancing at each other every now and then.

Nikolai slowly pulled the baby girl from her arms hoping she didn't startle Samee since she had been a bit edgy around the newborn. He had been extremely surprised Roman hadn't bother to come around for his niece.

Seeing nothing of importance James turned back, moving silently through the trees.

Alisa moved her arms around violently as she was moved.

Nikolai rested the baby gently on his chest that rose and fell calmly while wrapping his arms around her protectively. He stared up at the ceiling and murmured a 'thank you' in Russian having been grateful for his daughter.

Alisa continued to move around uncomfortably.

"I don't know, I mean they have children. How did we feel when we got taken?" Dawn said.

Samee fell back asleep exhaustively.

Jacki yawned and scratched her head as she sat with her children lazily.

"Don't argue this with me right now Dawn. I'm not trying to waste any time. They don't have children we all know that." Jay responded stubbornly. "When this is over we will have control of the waterfall and more freedom, Understand?" He said and before finishing he gestured for the others to follow then held the end of his stick up as he silently made his way into a hut and looked down at Roman before tying him up along with his hands and legs and tossing him onto his stomach outside.

Benjamin grinned as a crazed look filled his expression but was scolded by Jay not to kill and calmed down but immediately went after another girl. Ruby.

Nikolai set Alisa down back in Samee's arms. Something wasn't right. He could feel it.

Diamond wiggled around in her woven basket beside her sister. She touched her sisters face curiously.

Ciel took her sisters hand into her mouth immediately

Dawn shook her head and fell back.

Samee cuddled Alisa in hr sleep and sighed.

"Where Dada?" Nirvana asked, peeking over her mother's shoulder to look outside.

Alisa immediately calmed down once back with her mother.

Ruby lay asleep peacefully in her new hut.

Diamond pulled her hand away but cuddled up against her sister affectionately enjoying her warmth as she began to fall asleep.

Nikolai looked back at his wife and daughter before getting to his feet and grabbing his spear. Just as he had done so Alex had burst through the door. "Samee!" He shouted and drove the spear through Alex's shoulder and shouldered into him pushing him out onto the ground.

"James! Ben!" Alex whimpered having been caught off guard by the Russian's sudden preparations for his entrance.

Kitty stood over Ruby tying her up and looked over at Alex who had been injured.

Samee shot up, holding Alisa tightly. "What are they doing?"

Ciel yawned and smacked her lips as she fell back asleep with her sister beside her.

"Please go! Samee go!" Nikolai said suddenly in a defensive crouch ready for any others. He wasn't going to murder Alex but exactly what he had a predicted a year ago became true. They would turn their backs on them.

Cece slowly walked over to sit beside Jacki. "Those girls aren't Alex's are they?" She asked softly referring to Diamond and Ciel.

Jacki shook her head. "Go ahead and think of me as you want, but I do not regret this."

Samee nodded and ran out the back of the hut, keeping Alisa close.

"I'd lose respect for you if you regretted it." Cece reassured her. "They're beautiful girls Jacki." She told her encouragingly. "Will you tell Nikolai? You and the girls both will be seeing a lot of him unfortunately."

Benjamin gave a sadistic smirk as he was suddenly in front of Samee pushing her up against a tree careless of the infant in her arms and began to tie her up. "You're so lucky I have strict orders not to murder." He murmured.

Jay grabbed his rope and tied it around Nikolai's neck choking him back to keep him away from his brother. "You better settle down."

"Probably not." Jacki shrugged. "It will only create more problems."

Samee yelped as she was pushed against a tree and spat at Ben's feet, the ultimate form of disrespect she could think of.
