Tyler squinted a bit as a beam of light hit his face. By the way the clouds were forming, it wouldn't be log before a down pour on the island. It'd only been three months since his lovers death leaving him with only Alisha. It had been hell trying to feed the baby since of course, he couldn't produce milk. His father hadn't even been responding when he called for him either. Shaking his head he wrapped his arms securely around the baby. It was good to have his little girl back in his arms again.
Somehow, he instantaneously knew this was her when she was born. Hence why he had given her the same name rather than changing it, or was it simply fate. Having a vivid memory of his daughter, even a century ago, every tiny action resembled her. He nuzzled against her then wrapped her up in a blanket in the hut as he walked out to inspect the storm gusts and how much damage it would do to his little home. Not sparing any time, he quickly began put all his food in the hut unsure how long this would last. He walked out to a creek and filled old worn plastic bottles to the brim in fresh water then returned and laid beside his daughter again staring at the ceiling. Being immortal meant he got to experience everything with the advantage of never aging. Even when it got lonely, he had reminded himself that he had his daughter, and family that would occasionally greet him. Sarah had become a mother to him in all aspects.
Shutting his eyes he began to listen to droplets of water dribbling onto the hut. The tiny thudding becoming thicker. The rain was like a gentle lullaby that ironically put him back to sleep ready to awake when his daughter did.
